Their adoption process
We do not adopt to households with children under the age of 10 years old.
We do not adopt out of state.
When considering adopting a dog please remember some dogs can live to be 15 into their 20s.
We do not adopt to people looking for a dog as a gift.
We do not adopt further than 1.5 hours from us.

Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Please allow 5-7 business days to receive a response. Will be reviewed by Günter's Legacy Animal Rescue Board of Directors.
- Interview
- If the board approves your application you may receive a call for a phone interview.
- Home Check
- If application receives initial approval, we will schedule a mandatory home visit. Please note, if you rent we do check with the landlord.
- Meet the Pet
- We will schedule a meet and greet with the potential adopters and dog(s). It is required all members of the adoptive family must be present.
- Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
- Existing pets, required all the pets are properly introduced by GLAR. We will not adopt a dog into a home that has reached it's city mandate
- Sign Adoption Contract
- If app, home check, and meet and greet are approved we move forward with signing the contract.
- Pay Fee
- The adoption fee can be paid by PayPal, cash, or check but must be paid at the time of signing the contract. The adoption fee is non-refund
Go meet their pets
We do not have a facility we are a foster-based rescue. All of our dogs are in foster homes, you cannot meet the dog before you are an approved adopter.
