Their adoption process

Step one:
Browse our available animals online or visit them in the pet adoption center inside the Petco at 10017 Biddick Ln, Huntersville, NC 28078.

Step two:
Using the provided contact form here or on the APA! website, you can send an inquiry on the animal(s) you are interested in.

Step three:
Our adoption team will connect you to the foster home or someone at the shelter location where the animal is currently living to learn more about the animal and potentially set up a visit!
Please note, we are currently scheduling either in-person OR virtual visits, depending on the animal and the situation.

Step four:
After meeting the animal you would like to adopt, instructions for completing the adoption paperwork, scheduling an appointment, and picking up your new family member will be shared with you!

Go meet their pets

We're so excited to have you visit! No appointment needed! Just stop by during our open hours and one of our friendly Adoption Coordinators will be happy to help you find your new best friend.

Looking to get even more involved? We’re always looking for amazing volunteers and foster families too! Whether you’re ready to adopt or just want to lend a hand, we’d love to see you soon!

Monday-Sunday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
