We ask that you come to the shelter and speak with a volunteer. We have an outside run that you can spend time with the dog "and get to know each other".

You will be asked to fill out an application. If you rent your residence, you will be asked to provide verification that you are allowed to have a pet. You may be asked to provide a veterinarian reference especially if you have other pets in the household.

You must be at least 18 years old to adopt a pet.

You will be asked to sign a contract with that states that the information you have provided is truthful and that you will care for the pet. This contract is with between you and Oconee County Animal Control as we are their liason for adoptions at the shelter.

There are no refunds.

All of our pets are ready for immediate adoption. This means that you should be prepared to take the pet with you. Consider your availability to spend time with the pet as it will need to get adjusted to its new home.
