Big Bear Rescue & TNR was founded by a team that has supported animal rescues for many years and decided it was time to do deeper, more meaningful work by building a rescue of their own. The name "Big Bear" comes from Heather's beloved German Shepherd mix, Bentley — known as "Big Bear." Bentley was the inspiration behind the rescue and represented unconditional love, protection, and loyalty. Heather always knew that if she ever started a rescue, it would carry his name. Though Bentley is no longer here, his spirit lives on through every life saved. The team believes he is watching over them as they protect vulnerable animals and give them a second chance.
