Their adoption process

** We adopt to NJ only. ** All pets are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. An application is sent via email to the interested party and references are required and checked. No pets will be adopted into homes or families where there are animals who are unspayed or neutered (intact). We specialize in handicapped dogs and puppy mill survivors. Our adoption fee is used to cover the cost of all medicals on the pets, Usually around $600. We take our pets back for the rest of their lives if the owners circumstances should ever changed.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
Please email "spayme@aol.com" for an application. There are NO online applications.
  2. Interview
Once we have received your completed application, someone will contact you for your phone interview. We will check references beforehand.
  3. Meet the Pet
Once we have an approved application you will be invited with your family and other pets to come and meet the pet for adoption.

Go meet their pets

All our our pets are in private foster homes, therefore we only schedule an appointment to meet our pets after your application has been approved. ** We adopt to NJ only. **

More about this rescue

Adopt-A-Pet was founded in 1984 and is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to finding homes for animals who need them. Adopt-A-Pet is different from most shelters and rescue organizations in that any animal who comes through our doors will not be in danger of being euthanized. Many animals have problems that are solved if given the right treatment and training, these dogs are kept in foster homes until adopted. Adopt A Pet is the proud sponsor of Puppy Mill Awareness Day, for more info go to WWW.puppymillawarenessaap.org
