Their adoption process
Fees very depending on age, animal, breed, etc. Fees vary and are established by the county to help offset medical and care expenses.
You are required to fill out an adoption application that is subject to review. We reserve the right to deny any application for any reason. If you would like to adopt and dog and already have a dog/s, please bring your dog/s with you so we can make sure the dogs get along. If you rent your home, live in a condo or mobile home community, please bring proof that you are allowed to have pets.

Adoption steps
- Submit Applicationhttps://www.macombgov.org/departments/animal-control/adoption-application/
- InterviewMacomb County Animal Control will verify proper preventative care history of past/current pets and verify home ownership/review a pet policy
- Approve ApplicationOnce an application is approved the adoption coordinator will schedule a time with the applicant/family to meet the pet.
- Sign Adoption ContractIf a meet-and-greet is successful the family has an opportunity to finalize the adoption.
- Pay FeeEach pet has an established adoption fee and payment can be accepted in the form of credit/debit, check or cash.
- Take the Pet Home
