Our adoption process is designed to help create the best possible match for both the animal and adopter. Interested adopters can contact us by text, call, email, or through our adoption application to begin the process. Once we review the application and speak with the potential adopter, approved applicants may be invited for a meet-and-greet when appropriate. Our goal is to ensure every animal transitions into a safe, loving, and lifelong home with the support and guidance they need along the way.

Chihuahuan Desert Animal Shelter and Sanctuary is a nonprofit animal rescue and sanctuary organization serving the Chihuahuan Desert region, including El Paso, Las Cruces, and surrounding communities. We focus on compassionate foster-based care, enrichment, rehabilitation, and thoughtful adoption placement for animals in need. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where animals can heal, grow, and eventually find loving permanent homes while promoting a more humane and community-supported future for animal welfare.
