We talk with approved adopters to educate them about each dogs specific needs and educate them about necessary vetting.
Adoption steps
- Submit Applicationapplication must be approved
- Approve ApplicationFill out our application and submit it via website link.
- Meet the PetOur dogs are in foster homes.
- Take the Pet HomeWe send food home and give a 5 day trial period, longer if needed to see if its a good match.
- Home CheckWe do a home visit in person or virtually.
Go meet their pets
If adopting a dog or puppy off transport, then they go home with the adopter that day and go on a 5 day trial. Meet and greets scheduled after adoption application is approved, then they will be at the dogs fosters home.

Mutt Life is a family-owned, foster-based rescue operated out of Cedarburg, WI. Our mission is to provide shelter to homeless and owner-surrendered dogs in an effort to give them a second chance at finding their forever homes. We accomplish this through foster-based initiatives, responsible pet ownership education, and a supportive rescue community in Wisconsin and surrounding areas.
