My story

Fuzzy and her friend Star were rescued from one of the cat colonies we have helped to manage. These two girls were friendly with their caregiver and he felt that they would do well adopted into a home. One of our foster homes has taken them in and they are now ready for adoption! Fuzzy is female and is about 6 years old (as of Nov 2014) She has a beautiful longhaired grey coat. She has come along very well in her foster home and loves being pet and will just purr and purr while sitting on the couch beside her foster mom. She is living with other cats and dogs and doing well with them.

Fuzzy available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. Her adoption donation is $250. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Please fill out an application at our website http://www.grandriverallbreedrescue.ca. You can also reach us by email at grandriverrescue@hotmail.com

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Grand River All Breed Rescue's adoption process involves an adoption application, reference checks, and discussion about the potential adoptive home, including a home visit. We follow this process as we do have a responsibility to ensure that we place each pet in a home that is suitable and committed to caring for the pet for the rest of its' life.

We match our rescues to their new homes, and filling out an adoption application, or proceeding with our adoption process does not guarantee the acceptance of an adoption application. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant for any reason, at our discretion.

Please note that once we begin an application, we hope to have it completed within a couple days, based upon availability, particularly of your references. We are just as excited to find our pets their forever home as you are to adopt!

All GRAB animal require an adoption donation. Our adoption donations help us to pay for the many costs associated with rescuing animals, including veterinary bills, food, litter and other pet supplies, and administrative costs. The majority of our animals are adopted out for less than what it cost us to rescue them, and we do not make money on our pets. All adoption donations go directly back into our account which allows us to continue rescuing animals.

Currently our adoption donation for dogs is $375 and for cats is $175. Rabbits are adopted out for $60 and are spayed or neutered. Please ask us about adoption fees for other small pets, including guinea pigs, degus, etc.

For dogs and cats, our adoption donation includes a veterinary exam, vaccines, deworming and flea treatment (if needed), spay or neuter and microchip.

Go meet their pets

Our pets are all located in foster homes and an application must be approved in order to meet one of our pets.

More about this rescue

As a non-profit animal rescue group our focus is:

To adopt dogs, cats and other companion animals into suitable homes.

To ensure that all dogs and cats placed by our rescue are spayed and neutered to ensure that we are not contributing to the pet overpopulation problem.

To promote responsible and healthy pet care, including humane training techniques and healthy diets.
to rescue animals from over-crowded shelters and the streets.

Our members are understanding and caring people who are pet owners and caregivers. They understand the care and attention that pets require but also how fulfilling (if occasionally challenging) a life with pets can be. We're not here just for the animals, but for their owners as well!
