Here's what the humans have to say about me:
location: Crossville, TN
Sassafrass was found in early September, wandering alone in a wooded area - dirty, with no collar, and probably abandoned. She was taken to the local shelter where she was required to stay for 5 days to see if someone would claim her. No one came for her. Sassy is about 8-12 months old. She weighs about 10 pounds and is in good health. All of her medical basics have been taken care of. Sassy wears a collar, walks nicely on a leash, loves energetic playtime, and adores riding in the car. Sassy is very social and not at all aggressive; she loves everyone she meets. Sassafrass gets along with other dogs of all sizes. She is curious about cats and would like them to play with her. She is also fine with children. Adult supervision is always recommended for little ones under age 5, to avoid puppy nipping (common to all dogs of this age). Sassy is well on her way to being house trained, but has not yet learned to ask to go outside when it's time. She is very bright and has already been trained to not defecate on the wrong part of the yard. She is in the chewing stage, so lots of chew toys are in order. Sassy is very smart, gentle, loving, and playful. She is sweet and friendly with everyone, and makes everyone she meets smile. A home with another energetic dog and a fenced yard would be ideal.
Note: This is a Guardian Assistance Placement (GAP) Program dog, meaning he has been fortunate enough to remain in his current home while looking for a new home. Veterinary records have been verified, but we must rely on input from the owner for information on behavior and temperament.
