Pets are fixed, microchipped, and up-to-date on shots before adoption. Adopters must complete an application, contract, and pay the adoption fee (which varies based on age and type of animal). They also must provide references, and pass a home visit.

Hero's Haven Animal Rescue is a foster-based animal rescue that focuses on saving and bettering the lives of dogs and cats in need. We also have cats and kittens available for adoption at the PetSmart in SW Cedar Rapids and the PetSmart in Waterloo.
We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and licensed with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.
Since 2019, we have expanded our reach and have foster homes across much of Eastern Iowa, particularly in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Waterloo areas.
