Their adoption process
When adopting an animal from the New Albany Animal Shelter please be prepared to provide the following information:
A valid driver’s license or current photo ID. County of residency does not affect your ability to adopt.
If renting, a current pet policy or the ability to call and speak to your landlord is required. We want to verify you can have said animal at your residence before the adoption process.
The adoption fees are $80.00 for dogs, $20.00 for cats, and kittens < 4lbs are $60.

- Visit the Facility and Find a PetOur viewing hours for adoptable pets is Monday - Friday 11:00AM - 4:30PM and Saturday 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM

The New Albany Shelter is a municipal animal control department. We service the animal control needs of New Albany city limits and place adoptable animals into forever homes. We work to promote adoptions of homeless animals, educate the public about the care of companion animals, and to serve our communities needs.
