Their adoption process

Our adoption process is designed to make sure each dog and family are the right fit for one another. The process may include an application, meet and greet on neutral ground, home visit, and additional visits or an overnight trial when needed.

Because every dog in our care has a different history, personality, and comfort level, the adoption process may vary. Some dogs may need a slower transition, while others adjust quickly. We will always be honest about what we know about the dog and work with the family throughout the transition.

All adopters must agree to provide proper veterinary care, year-round flea and heartworm prevention, a safe living environment, and never leave the dog unattended in unsafe temperatures or a hot vehicle. If an adopter can no longer care for the dog, the dog must be returned to A Time 2 Remember Rescue and may not be sold, given away, or surrendered elsewhere without our approval.

Our goal is not the fastest adoption—it's the right forever home.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
Complete our adoption application so we can learn about your family, home, current pets, and the dog you are interested in.
  2. Interview
We will contact you to discuss your application, answer questions, and learn more about what you are looking for in a dog.
  3. Meet the Pet
A meet and greet is arranged on neutral ground. Resident dogs and family members may be asked to attend
  4. Home Check
We visit the home with the dog to check safety, meet the family and pets, and see how the dog responds to the environment.
  5. Approve Application
Applications are approved based on the best fit for the individual dog and family. Approval is not first come, first served.
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
Approved adopters review and sign our adoption agreement, including veterinary care, safety, and return-to-rescue requirements. Psy deposit
  7. Pay Fee
Adoption fees are paid before final placement. Additional transition visits or an overnight trial may be required for some dogs

Go meet their pets

Our pets are currently available to meet by appointment only. We arrange meet and greets on neutral ground to help ensure a safe, comfortable introduction. We hope to attend local pet and adoption events beginning this October. Follow us for upcoming event dates and locations! 🐾

More about this rescue

A Time 2 Remember Rescue is a small, home-based animal rescue dedicated to giving dogs the time, patience, and care they need to heal and find the right forever family. We rescue, rehabilitate, train, and rehome dogs who have been abandoned, neglected, surrendered, or simply overlooked.

We believe every dog is different, which means their journey to adoption should be different too. Some are ready for a family quickly, while others need extra time, training, multiple visits, or a safe sanctuary where they can simply be loved.

We do this because we believe every pawprint deserves its time to shine. Our goal isn't just to find homes—it's to create happily ever afters that last.
