The Calhoun Animal Shelter is dedicated to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of animals in our community. We serve as a temporary safe haven for lost, abandoned, and surrendered animals while working to reunite pets with their owners or find them loving, permanent homes.

As a municipal shelter, we often operate at full capacity and with limited resources, but our commitment to the animals in our care never wavers. Every animal receives daily care, food, shelter, and compassion from staff and volunteers who truly love what they do.

We believe in responsible pet ownership, community education, and working together to reduce pet overpopulation. Through adoptions, partnerships, and community support, we strive to give each animal the best possible chance at a brighter future.
