Their adoption process

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age to adopt. Please have a valid government-issued ID ready and available.

Please note that the dog you are interested in is in a foster home and we do not hold dogs for any reason. We cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in on the website will still be available when you arrive at an event or apply to adopt. Our small team updates as often as possible!

If you rent your home/apartment/condo, please be prepared to show proof of your pet policy.

Current dogs in the home must be altered with the exception of a medical condition prohibiting surgery.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
  2. Interview
  3. Approve Application
  4. Meet the Pet
  5. Sign Adoption Contract
  6. Pay Fee
  7. Take the Pet Home

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a dedicated community of dog lovers working to reduce euthanasia in local shelters and increase awareness of rescue dogs being wonderful pets.

Wags and Walks is focused on advocating for wrongfully stereotyped bully breeds, medical dogs, and mamas + puppies that are often overlooked and at-risk due to overcrowding. We do not select dogs based on their size, age, or breed. We select our dogs on a case-by-case basis, factoring in our ability to help and their likelihood of thriving when placed in the right home.

We know that, like amazing dogs, loving families come in all shapes and sizes. Our goal is to find every pup an adopter whose home, family, and lifestyle are a perfect fit for a lifetime of love and happiness.
