Their adoption process
We are all volunteers within Ragged Claws Rescue. We are a foster-based org, so all meet & greets take place in a our foster homes. For this reason, only approved applications can move forward with a meet & greet. Approved applications will hear back within 48 hours. Due to volume, unapproved applications will not be contacted.
Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationPlease submit an application at bit.ly/raggedclawsadoption
- Meet the PetWe want to make sure all members of the household and the pet in question are a good match! We do this through an in-person meet & greet.
- Sign Adoption ContractWe have a sleep-on-it policy after the meet. Were it to be a good match, you will contact us after the meet to move forward to adoption.
- Take the Pet HomeAdoption contract and fee will be paid at pickup time. There is a one week & 30 day check-in to see how things are going with your new pet.

Our Mission:
A Milwaukee-based rescue working to prevent suffering in cats & kittens by using TNR (trap neuter return), socialization, and adoption to curb the population of outdoor cats, and subvert the cycle of kittens being born outside.
We are a small rescue that only takes on about 100 animals per year. We keep things small in order to give your new pet specialized attention & care. All our pets come from outdoor colonies, or are transferred from local animal control.
Every animal adopted from Ragged Claws Rescue is helping vulnerable animals find a soft place to land.
