Adoption steps
- Visit the Facility and Find a PetStop by during regular business hours to meet adoptable pets in person. We work on a first-come, first-served basis to find the best match.
- Submit ApplicationEvery adoption visit requires completing an adoption survey. We ask you submit your adoption survey to staff at least one hour before close.
- Meet the PetWe encourage dog-to-dog meet and greets; and for some of our dogs, this will be a requirement to ensure a smooth transition.
- Sign Adoption ContractYou can expect to spend about 30 minutes to complete paperwork, pay the adoption fee, and receive your adoption packet
- Pay Fee
- Take the Pet HomeIf the visit goes well and you’re ready to adopt, please be prepared to take your new pet with you that day.

More about this shelter
We are an open admissions shelter, meaning we take in homeless animals regardless of age, breed, health, temperament or lack of space. On average, we take in about 7,000 stray, surrendered and abandoned animals per year including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles. We provide adoption services to find safe, happy homes for these pets; and also provide low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics to help safeguard them against illness or being lost forever.
