A quick note about our adoption process. ❤️
We are incredibly grateful for every application we receive and for everyone who chooses to adopt a rescue pet. We know it’s exciting to find an animal you love, and we completely understand wanting an update.
What many people don’t realize is that All The Paws Animal Rescue is primarily run by just two people, and we’re responsible for the care of more than 70 animals, and on busy days we may receive 50+ applications in one day.
As the Director, I personally review every application because I believe every adoption deserves careful consideration. That means I’m also checking veterinary references, coordinating fosters, scheduling veterinary appointments, transporting animals, vaccinating puppies and kittens, answering medical questions, and handling the day-to-day operations of the rescue.
Lately, we’ve seen a huge increase in follow-up messages. Many applicants are sending emails, Facebook messages, text messages, commenting on multiple posts, and reaching out in several different ways asking for updates. While we know these messages are sent with good intentions, every follow-up requires time to answer, and that time comes directly away from reviewing applications. Ironically, it slows the process down for everyone.
Please know this: every application is reviewed, and every applicant will receive a response. If you haven’t heard from us yet, it’s simply because we haven’t made it to your application. We aren’t skipping anyone, and we aren’t ignoring anyone.
Please also keep in mind that turnaround times vary based on the number of applications we receive and our workload. Weekends can take longer because most veterinary offices are closed, which means we can’t complete vet reference checks until they reopen.
The best thing you can do after submitting your application is simply give us a little time. We promise we’ll reach out as soon as we’ve reviewed it.

All The Paws Animal Rescue is a foster-based nonprofit dedicated to saving homeless, abandoned, and at-risk dogs and puppies. We work to rescue animals from overcrowded shelters and unsafe situations, provide them with needed veterinary care, and place them in loving foster homes while they wait for forever families. Our mission is to give every pet a second chance through compassion, advocacy, and responsible adoption.
