Their adoption process
Once proof of steriliaztion is provided, we return the 50.00 spay/neuter deposit for kitties.
Adoption steps
- Meet the PetWe have kitties at Pet Supplies Plus in Saginaw. Sometimes they meet them there, sometimes it's in the foster's home.
- Submit Applicationvia online through our website
- InterviewEither phone interview or in person
- Home CheckWe visit the home to ensure a smooth transition and make sure it's suitable for both parties
- Approve ApplicationOnce all parties agree, we approve the application and they then fill out the adoption contract
- Sign Adoption ContractFill this out along with Spay/Neuter agreement if they are not fixed. It's an additional $50 refundable deposit for cats.Dogs are fixed.
- Pay FeeEither cash or card, then take the pet home. Please know there are various rates for adoption fees occassionally for both cats and dogs.
Go meet their pets
We have kitties at Pet Supplies Plus in Saginaw occassionally. This will be week by week as all our kitties are in foster as well as our dogs but we do not take them to Pet Supplies Plus.

The Great Lakes Bay Animal Society was founded in 2012 by animal rescue veterans who saw a need for a companion animal rescue and advocacy group dedicated to assisting the communities in the Great Lakes Bay Region. We are proud of our community and our home, and when we learned two out of three animals going into Great Lakes Bay Region county shelters are euthanized, we took action.
Our all-volunteer organization, Rescues adoptable animals and provides care and medical treatment to animals in transition through our Foster Program
Ensures these rescued companion animals are placed in loving, permanent homes
Promotes responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering for controlling pet overpopulation
We respond to the needs in our community—often partnering with fellow rescues—to save cats and dogs living outside or without a safe place, giving more animals a chance at life. Great Lakes Bay Animal Society is dedicated to rescuing abandoned, neglected, and at-risk animals across the Great Lakes Bay Region.
