Their adoption process

Please note: You must be at least 25 years old to adopt a dog or cat from us - unless you are able to demonstrate a mature lifestyle.

Adoption fees typically range from
$100-$200 for DOGS
$25-$50 for CATS

Adoption fees are used to pay for spay/neuter, vaccinations, flea & heart worm medicine, vet expenses and supplies for our rescues.

The prospective owner must agree to a screening process that includes a phone interview, pre/post adoption home visits and the signing of an adoption contract. Our goal is to find the best match for our dogs & cats and their new families, so that everyone lives happily ever after.

We prefer homes who want to go to an obedience class. Training strengthens the bond and trust that you have with your dog, and it's fun, for both of you! Dogs like to think and to be mentally challenged. Contrary to what many people think, they don't want to be couch potatoes. The training you do together will be an investment in the future.

For more information please email. We will respond within 12-24 hours. Please be patient, we all have full time jobs and are busy with other rescue matters.

Thank you!

More about this rescue

Foster Parents For Pooches is a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue group established in 1994. We are a small network of volunteers that rescue and rehabilitate homeless dogs from the streets of Cleveland, Ohio. We also save dogs from local shelters and take them into our foster homes, oftentimes within hours of being euthanized. In recent years we’ve been rescuing cats/kittens too. We take care of all medical needs, provide training as needed, and find them loving families. We also work with people who give up their pets, for whatever reason, by giving appropriate advice on placement and listing their pet on our website.
