Step 1: Fill out the adoption application on our website. Someone from our team will reach out to you in 3-5 business days. We may send you a list of resources if your application did not demonstrate your avian care knowledge.

Step 2: Schedule a virtual interview with our team to go over your application and ask any questions you have.

Step 3: Schedule your in-person meet-and-greet appointment where you can see your bird for the first time, and your bird can interact with you. At this appointment, we want to see you handle the bird and see how the bird reacts to you. This is your chance to start your initial bond and trust-building.

After the meet-and-greet appointment, gather all of the needed equipment for your bird at home, and take a picture of your full set up. Once you are approved, you can schedule a day to take your bird home.

All adopters enter a foster-to-adopt period for the first three months after bringing their bird home. During this time, we require adopters to return the bird to the rescue if the bird turns out to not be a good fit rather than privately rehoming the bird.

We are here to support our birds and their new family and can provide resources and assistance with any obstacles that naturally arise when birds are adjusting to a new environment.

We are a 501(c)(3) Ohio-based parrot community focused on education, rehabilitation and free flight training. We also operate as a limited-capacity, foster-based rescue.
