Their adoption process

Our adoption process starts with an application so we can learn more about your home, pets, and what kind of dog may be the best fit. Once approved, we schedule a meet and greet and, when needed, introductions with current pets. Our goal is to make thoughtful matches that give each dog the best chance at a safe, loving, forever home.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
  2. Approve Application
  3. Meet the Pet
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
  5. Pay Fee
  6. Take the Pet Home

Go meet their pets

Ruffneck Rescue is available for meet and greets by appointment. Since we are a small rescue, this helps us make sure we have time set aside for you and the dog you are interested in.

Once your application is reviewed, we can schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We are also happy to help set up a meet and greet with your current pets at a time that is convenient for you.

Our goal is to make sure each dog is a good fit for their future home, so we take introductions seriously and want everyone — people and pets — to feel comfortable.

Monday-Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Saturday-Sunday: Closed

More about this rescue

Ruffneck Rescue is a small, volunteer-driven dog rescue based in Odessa, Texas. We started because there is a huge need in our area for safe placement, medical care, and second chances for dogs who have been abandoned, neglected, surrendered, or left without a place to go.

We may be a new rescue, but we are working hard every day to make a difference for West Texas dogs. Our focus is rescuing dogs in need, providing basic care and medical support, helping them become ready for adoption, and matching them with loving homes. Many of our dogs come from difficult situations, and we believe every one of them deserves patience, kindness, and the chance to be someone’s best friend.

Because we are small and mostly volunteer-run, community support means everything to us. Donations help with food, vaccines, vet care, preventatives, shelter supplies, and facility needs. Volunteers and fosters also make a huge difference by helping us care for more dogs and give them the time, attention, and love they deserve.

When you adopt, foster, donate, volunteer, or even share our posts, you are helping us save more dogs in Odessa and the surrounding West Texas area.
