Their adoption process
Local resident are required to purchase a spay/neuter voucher at the time of adoption. Vouchers for female dogs are $80, male dogs are $55 and cats, male or female are $30. Our adoption fee is $25.
Out of state adopters just pay the $25 adoption fee and are required to sign an adoption agreement that guarantees sterilization and wellness care. Proof of sterilization must be provided to SCAS within 30 days.

Sampson County Animal Shelter is an open admission county animal shelter. As such, animals entering our facility may be sick even though they are not showing symptoms. We euthanize when necessary for space rather than time.
