Adoption Expectations
Our goal is to place each animal in a safe, loving, and permanent home. To help ensure the best fit, we ask that adopters:
• Be prepared for the time, commitment, and financial responsibility of caring for a pet for their lifetime
• Provide appropriate housing, exercise, and enrichment
• Keep pets as indoor family members
• Be willing to introduce slowly to other pets and allow time for adjustment
• Have landlord approval if renting
We take placement seriously and aim to match each animal with the right home—not just the fastest one. We’re always happy to answer questions and help determine if a pet is a good fit for your lifestyle.

More about this rescue
We are Rocky Mount Animal Advocates (RMAA), a small but dedicated group of volunteers working to give animals in our community a second chance.
Many of the dogs and cats we help are at risk simply because there isn’t enough space, time, or resources. We advocate for them, share their stories, and connect them with fosters, adopters, and trusted rescue partners who can give them the life they deserve.
This work isn’t always easy, but it matters. Every life saved, every placement made, and every animal who leaves the shelter is why we do what we do.
