Here's what the humans have to say about me:
location: Memphis, TN
Bo is a black 5 year old American Hairless Terrier (AHT) who weighs about 14 pounds. He joined his family when he was 7 months old. Prior to that he was raised by his breeder, Bonnie Turner. She was a loving woman and cared deeply for this particular breed of dog. Bo’s parents were show dogs, and his father Rowdy was a Champion. Bo is somewhat timid, but warms up to people and other animals quickly. He has been around one cat; he basically ignored the cat and the cat ignored him. Bo has always been really sweet with kids, though he has no patience with toddlers who don't respect his boundaries (tail tugging, excessive hugging, chasing, and kissing his head). Bo loves to take walks! He's a little excitable at first, but then walks very well on the leash. He has been housebroken for years and does not have accidents inside - and goes to the door to indicate that he needs to go out. Bo responds to some verbal and hand commands, such as "sit", "stay", "down", "come", "go lay down", "go to bed", "go out", etc. While his family is at work he's content to hang out in his crate and nap. Bo likes to sit in the den, curled up on a dog pillow when his family relaxes in front of the TV. He is a calm dog, but loves to play and interact with people. Bo will make a great addition to any family, especially a family with older, dog-savvy children. Note: This is a Guardian Assistance Placement (GAP) Program dog, meaning he/she has been fortunate enough to remain in his/her current home while looking for a new home. Veterinary records have been verified, but we must rely on input from the owner for information on behavior and temperament.
