My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a young, sweet pup just coming into his own? Meet Jobie! This stunning young blue-eyed chap is just 9 months old and well on his way to being a fabulous canine companion. Jobie came to WBCR from a rural Utah shelter with his mom, Gracie. They were picked up chasing horses and never reclaimed. While we don't know much of their past, it's clear these two are really adjusting quickly to being well-loved and cared for dogs! Jobie is an affectionate boy who really likes people. He greets everyone he meets looking for some loving - he loves to bury his head in people's laps! Jobie is a little less comfortable around new dogs - he can be nervous and defensive - but is learning that new dogs are not out to eat him. He's somewhat playful with those canines he's comfortable with (like his foster sisters) and he's definitely a bit herdy when they run! This pup loves to chew bones and is learning about toys - he shows fetching potential, right now chasing and picking up the ball and sometimes brings it back (if there’s nothing more distracting for him at the moment!). He especially likes to keep the backyard squirrel-free. Jobie is a moderate energy boy who will require a good bit of exercise, and once his needs are met he has a nice off switch.

It should come as no surprise that Jobie is a quick learner - he's also a very soft and sensitive boy and will require adopters who use gentle and reward-based tactics to train him. He's housetrained and cratetrained, and is pretty well-mannered in the house. He rides well in the car, although can be a little hesitant getting in, and is familiar with a few of the basics. Like a lot of our rescues, Jobie probably has not had a whole lot of great experiences in the world, and will benefit from adopters who will work on building his confidence along with continuing his basic manners education. Jobie will do best in a home with another dog who is confident, as he shows much more interest in his surroundings and is more playful and happier in the company of a well-adjusted dog. All in all Jobie is a real diamond in the rough. With just a little more effort we expect him to blossom into a wonderful best friend! If you are thinking of adding another dog to your life, and the idea of a sweet young chap appeals to you, Jobie may be just what you are
looking for!

Jobie is neutered, fully vetted and living in a loving foster home near Loveland, CO.
