Marley is an absolutely gorgeous dog! He just turned a year old and he is a purebred White German Shepherd Dog. He is large at about 80# and growing. He was an owner surrender because she said he was jealous and protective of her. Turns out Marley is quite cautious and afraid of men, he was not being protective, he was being scared.
If his new home has a male in it, the male must be a very confident man who will not be offended if the dog never bonds with him. Marley must go to a home where the people are familiar with pack leadership and can teach Marley where he belongs in the pack. He can be a little pushy if you let him. If you don't understand what pack leadership means, then please don't waste my time.
Marley likes to play fetch and he loves to play with other dogs. He is fine with cats and is fine with older children. Having a home with a doggie playmate or access to doggie playmates would be perfect for him.
He is house trained and crate trained. He rides well in a car and is learning to walk well on a leash. He does know SIT, SHAKE, LAY DOWN. He COMEs pretty well, but if he is afraid, he may not--so he will need a fenced in yard to be safe.
As a pretty typical white shepherd, Marley needs a very special home with patient, intelligent people. He is a wonderful dog, he just has been in the wrong hands for his first year of life, so he needs someone to nurture him to his full potential. He will be worth the time!
