My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mojo is doing great! He is blending in nicely with his foster siblings and playing non-stop. FM has him on a regular routine and we are perfecting outdoor potty-training. He is typically crated during the workday with a lunchtime walk and then free-range after work and on the weekends where he takes advantage of every square inch of the house, playing, running, lounging, and sleeping. He has gained some weight and is probably closer to 7 pounds these days and uses that weight to his advantage when wrestling with his fur siblings. He is definitely a rough and tumble boy but still a total lovebug! He really would prefer to snuggle in FM's bed every night, but we are currently only allowing that on the weekends.
Mojo is a special boy and deserves an amazing home with a playful fur-sibling around his size. Do you think he would fit into your home and heart?

07/07/11: Mojo is still doing fantastic!! He is a curious, playful, and loving puppy! He went to the vet and they confirmed no liver shunt!!!! Horaay!!! Although, his test results came back and required follow-up for other elevated levels, but nothing too concerning per the vet. We are still awaiting the official clean bill of health and hope that it comes next week! After that, he will be ready for his neuter and then his furever home!! YIPPEEE!!!!

06/15/11: Mojo here! After a looooong trip to Florida, a night in the hospital and a visit to another vet, I'm getting adjusted to life in my foster home and so far I'm doing great! FM says they are not sure what was/is going on with me, so I am going to stick around a bit and may undergo some other tests before I'll be ready to get snipped, ouch! In the meantime, I'm trying to be a good boy, using the potty pads, eating my prescription food, learning to walk on a leash and sleeping contently through the night. I'm not too thrilled to be in my crate so during the day I get to play in my x-pen when FM has to step out and at night I'm sleeping in FM's bed. Come morning, I'm ready to play! And, after I take an afternoon nap I'm ready to play again all evening. I think all of your well wishes have worked because, I'm feeling good and acting just like a normal puppy with lots of energy! I enjoy playing with FM's yorkie and their great toys and once in a while I'll make a little noise, but not too much. Ok, well I gotta go, I'm off to run laps around the coffee table. Tah tah for now! Xoxo Mojo!

06/13/11: After being surrendered because his former owners were unable to afford to pay increasing medical costs and an upcoming surgery, Mojo arrived in Tampa, FL yesterday after taking a 2 hour car ride to the airport and a 3 hour flight. Foster mom (FM) said her heart melted when she met Mojo because he is such a doll! Weighing about 4 pounds and as soft and light as a feather, he immediately wagged his tail and licked her hand as if to say "thank you for coming to my rescue!" Mojo is a great traveler and was well-behaved in his carrier and on the plane, although he did get antsy periodically and vocal when it was time to go potty. But, the flight attendants were nice enough to turn the other cheek when FM took him out of the carrier so he could use a potty pad during the flight (his current medication causes frequent urges.) In addition to regularly using potty pads, Mojo knows to "go" in the grass and is getting the hang of walking on a leash. He is crate trained, although he insisted on sleeping in FM's bed last night, since it was his first night in a new place! He is very friendly, likes FM's yorkies and is relatively playful for being sick. Currently he has bursts of energy where is interested in toys and chasing the other dogs, but it doesn't last long and he ends up taking a nice long nap. Mojo went to the vet this morning for his liver shunt evaluation and we are awaiting the results. If his initial diagnosis is confirmed, he will likely have surgery in the next day or two and the doc may also nueter him, if things go well during the procedure. Mojo will make a great addition to any home, although since he is so tiny, young and currently fragile, it would be best that there are no small children in his prospective forever home. He is on a special diet and will possibly need to remain on that diet, but time will tell more. He would do great with other dogs and even cats! But, will absolutely need a home with lots of love and attention! Do you think you would be a fit for him? If so, please apply. It may be a couple months before he is ready, but FM says he is definitely worth the wait!!

Initial Bio 06/08/11: Mojo (a 4.5 month old Morkie) has been diagnosed with a liver shunt. UYR will be getting him treated, if possible, as soon as we can get him to a major veterinary surgery hospital. Mojo has been very sick and went temporarily blind and deaf about 3 weeks ago after a major seizure. Since then, he has been on a special diet and prescription medication and has responded well to both. His vision and hearing has returned and we are hoping to do everything possible to correct this problem so he will live a long and healthy life!
