My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB: Approximately 5/1/05
Breed: Japanese Bobtail
Color: Black and White (tuxedo)
Sex: Male, neutered & declawed previously
Good with cats: Jonas would prefer to be the only cat, but will be fine with other cats if they don’t chase him.
Good with dogs: Jonas is fine around cat-friendly dogs
Good with kids: Jonas does not like to be picked up roughly or suddenly, so he would be best in a home with no children or older kids.

Jonas’ story: Jonas was found at a local shelter. Can you imagine this handsome boy wandering around the streets, declawed and defenseless? All he wants is someone to love – he is so dedicated and demanding of human attention.
Jonas likes: Head-butts! He gives the hardest, most enthusiastic head-butts his foster mom has ever seen! He also really loves his bedtime snack of canned food. Jonas will play with some toys, but he loves petting most of all (just not on his stomach). He also prefers men over women, but he is not particular if he gets all of the attention!
Jonas dislikes: Cats who bother him. In his foster home, he does great when other cats aren’t around, but when they come too close to him, he swats at them. He never pursues them, though. Jonas also doesn’t like changes to his environment and may get constipated at first when surrounding change (see Medical Needs below).
Making Jonas comfortable: He needs his own space when he comes to a new home. He can be grumpy and won’t want to be held or petted for about the first week he’s there. Just talk to him gently, and bring him his snacks of canned food – he really bonds with his foster mom during those times. He really likes to talk to you when it’s time for his snacks, so this is important. He also likes little beds he can curl up in, and he particularly likes leather chairs (see above), which is fine because he’s declawed! Another thing Jonas likes is a big, sunny window so he can look out upon the world.
Medical needs: Jonas has become extremely constipated when his surroundings have changed before, or during stressful times. He needs a home that is not noisy or stressful to live in. He also will need over-the-counter laxative and attention to litter box usage when he moves to a new home. He may need veterinary care if it becomes severe, but with care and attention, this should be minimal.
What Jonas wants: "I want a human to dedicate myself to...someone who will pet me and let me give head-butts, but also know when I’m finished being petted. I would love to sleep with my human, but in my foster home, there are just too many other doggone cats in bed already! I want to be kept safe, and fed fresh food and clean water. I also like having my litter scooped daily! Oh, and one more thing...I want to be cherished. look at me – don’t I deserve it?"
