We always say at the shelter, “You just can’t beat a bottle baby,” and these pups are a perfect example why.

When their mother suddenly lost interest in feeding them at only two weeks old, their owners were at a loss. They knew the pups would have to be bottle fed, but they didn’t have the time or finances to make such a huge commitment. In desperation, they decided to take the pups and mom to the dog pound, hoping someone would be able to care for them there. But luckily, before they could enter the pound, they were directed here to New Lease on Life.
We love bottle babies here. They immediately were started on formula and took to it as if they had always been on the bottle. Thanks to many midnight feedings and plenty of affection showered on them by all the volunteers, they thrived and grew.. and grew. In their first week alone, they doubled in size.
Now at six weeks old, they are the sweetest, most loving, playful puppies you could ever hope to meet. As soon as you walk into the room, they race forward to greet you, and when you pick them up, your face will be smothered with puppy kisses.
Their foster families are having a ball with the puppies. They are being very well socialized with children of all ages.
We believe the pups are German Shepherd/Boxer mixes. Based on their current size and age, we’re estimating they will be 60 pounds as adults, so adopters should plan on a medium-sized dog.
The pups are too young for housebreaking just yet, but they’re very smart, and we’re expecting them to pick up the idea quickly. We recommend crate training as the easiest way to housebreak a puppy and would be happy to give you tips.
Due to the size of this litter, the puppies have been divided between three foster homes. If you would like to meet one (or more) of the pups, please call 330–397–8270 to schedule an appt to meet them at the shelter. Who’s where:

What is the adoption process? These pups are too little to be spayed/neutered yet, but this will be done BEFORE you take them home. To adopt, call 330–397–8270 to schedule an appt to meet your favorite puppy. After meeting them, you can fill out an adoption application. If approved, you must leave a 50% deposit ($100) to reserve your puppy. Puppies are normally fixed at 8 weeks old. As soon as they are big enough to be fixed, we will have their spayed/neutered. You can then take your puppy home the day after surgery.
