Sage was surrendered to us a few weeks ago with Popeye. She was adopted and has been returned because of her separation anxiety and her owners increased work hours. She and Popeye had a joyous reunion, and we really would like to find a home for both of them together. Sage is a very shy girl, five years old, perhaps part Weimaraner or greyhound, although at just 49 pounds she is on the small side for such a mix. Shes highly anxious when left alone, even with Popeye to keep her company. Much of her anxiety can be traced back to being kicked by a stranger when she was a baby. She has been put on a mild tranquillizer, and she is a much happier girl, though still anxious. Sage is fearful with strangers, but within her own family shes a loving and affectionate girl. She shouldnt live with cats. She has reportedly been good with children, with supervision. Sage and Popeye arrived here having missed out on the socialization they should have had a puppies, but it is never too late to catch up, with patience, praise, and attention training. Sages short-term owner reported that, She is a sweet, smart, affectionate, and loving dog and a good listener and is very mellow when home with her owner.
