My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can save this gentle soul and give him the BEST YEARS of his life -- but it's important to act NOW, as this dog may be on borrowed time. He is friendly to everyone including the cats at the shelter Following is what the shelter wrote about him:

"Buddy was found as a stray. He is a younger adult male. He is a sweet fellow who is ready for a new home since his owners have not come looking for him.

Update:2-14-07We have found out over the course of the last few months that Buddy was a stray in a rural area of the county that no one actually claimed, but several families apparently fed him and he`d roam from one house to another, but no one person was responsible to look out for his safety and to make sure he had proper shelter.

After he was just put in the daily paper as pet of the week, one of the folks that lived in the area called to check on him and told us that Buddy would go to the rural church on Sundays and on Wed evening and sit in the foyer during service, then greet folks as they left, shaking hands with those that were inclined. He would not leave the church till everyone else was gone, even the preacher.

Buddy does have a guardian angel looking out for him. Now he needs a family that will take him in and give him a home to call his own."

PLEASE NOTE THAT SINCE THIS IS NOT A NORTHERN LIGHTS FOSTER DOG, your best (and fastest) option is to contact the shelter directly for information concerning this animal:
Crawford County Humane Society
Robinson, Illinois
618-544-8698

Calling is always preferable to emailing, as shelters are often understaffed and time is virtually ALWAYS of the essence! A phone call to the shelter can make a life or death difference! You can also contact Northern Lights Sled Dog Rescue at tavar@comcast.net for a direct link to this dog's primary listing. Northern Lights has not evaluated this dog and is posting only as a courtesy. Choosing to pursue a shelter dog is at the discretion of the adopter.
