My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My new name is Minnie, and I sure am glad to be getting a new start. I am a very small, female Pei, who‘s had quite a hard life; but I know things are going to get better THIS time. My son, Marcus, and I were neglected and then abandoned. Someone called animal control about us, and our owner was going to be charged with animal cruelty if they didn‘t surrender us. So they took us away. We thought OH BOY, but our excitement was short lived. They took us to this horrible place that was cold and noisy, and after only one day we were put on the “E” list. I hear that is not a good thing. But some great ladies from NY, NJ, VA and NC started sending emails, and they were able to save us.

Update 11/28/2011: I am so happy! I am settling in at my foster home and already am known as a “sweetheart”! Yep, that‘s me, and I am so excited to have people who appreciate my sweetness. Foster Mom gave me a bath, and now I look so much better. I am getting along with the kids and the nice Pei here, Kobe. I‘m housebroken and am enjoying being in the house. I have made myself at home here and have discovered the pleasure of lounging on a chair!

Update 12/2/2011: My skin is looking much better already! Foster mom says I‘m on the mend. I‘m going to the vet tomorrow so please check back to hear how I do.

Update 12/5/2011: I‘m so sad today. Some bad news from the vet...I am heartworm positive too.

Update 12/13/2011: I had my chest X-ray today and it showed “moderate heartworms”. I‘m not sure what that means, but my vet feels ok about doing the surgery to remove this nasty tumor on my leg - YEAH, can‘t wait to get rid of that nasty thing. I will be spayed too. I'll be going in for surgery on Thursday and will be staying overnight. I‘m a little scared so please keep me in your thoughts.

Update 12/17/2011: Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know that I am doing great! Boy, does it feel good to have that crazy thing off my leg. Check out the picture of how nice my leg looks already. The vet sent my tumor off to be tested, and we are really hoping it is benign. We should know in a week.
