My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nook is a medium-haired, dilute tortoiseshell female cat. She is intelligent, affectionate, playful, and fond of well-behaved people and pets. She is a low-shedding indoor cat who would rather lie beside you but will calmly amuse herself when you need to work. She will gently put her paw on your arm when she wants to be petted. She has a little voice and a low throaty purr like a ’69 Corvette. She adapts quickly to household changes, is very easy to maintain, and has no annoying habits.

Nook’s plush, medium-length coat is soft and silky. She keeps herself sparkling clean. Her grooming needs are simple; a weekly combing and nail trimming will strengthen your bond.

Nook was taken into the HSEC rescue program as a stray so the history of her upbringing is unknown. She was grossly underweight when she arrived at the door of a kind soul. Since then, she has done very well in foster care. Now, as you can see in her photos and videos, she is a healthy, contented, regal-looking princess.

If you are looking for a smart, beautiful, low-maintenance pet companion who will gladly listen to your stories, make arrangements to meet Nook today. She is currently in a foster home, so please contact the Humane Society via phone at (252) 413-7247 or e-mail at hsec@embarqmail.com to schedule a time to meet Nook.

All cats with the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, on flea prevention and tested for FIV/FeLV. Adoptions come with a small bag of Hill's Science Diet food and one month free of pet health insurance.
