My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kato the Tender-Hearted Lion

Kato has the mane of a regal lion, and the roar to match. Underneath, though, he has love that would melt any heart. Six year old Kato's life was very sheltered and he didn't get much socialization. His current foster home is a big change from that solitary life! Having 5 dog-siblings makes for a busy home, but Kato's foster mom makes sure Ol' Brown Eyes gets plenty of his own time. His dearest toy is his raggedy security blanket that he carries around with him. Kato rides well in a car but when he's on a leash, he's too worried about making friends and enjoying nature to stay still. This beautiful Peke gets attention anywhere he goes, which is what makes him a lover, not a fighter. He prefers to potty outside, and in the winter, likes playing in the snow. Kato would flourish well as an "only dog," if at all possible, so that he could have lots of 1-on-1 attention. An owner with of plenty of time to spend with him would be a best bet, too.

Kato is being fostered in Beckley, WV and his asking adoption fee is $250.

Please read about adopting from us on our home page by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

NOTE: Due to the volatile price of gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance
