My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

As of Saturday, April 7th, we have received a significant number of inquiries and applications on Ophelia. We suspect that once applications are reviewed, and home-visits done, we will have found a good match from amongst the applicants. Once it's certain, we will moved Ophelia to 'ADOPTED' status. If you would like to check back mid-week (April 11th), we'll have either changed her from PENDING to AVAILABLE or ADOPTED. Thank you!

Fun, spirited, loving, lively, little OPHELIA is a Labbe (Beagle & Lab)...we guess anyway. Her mother Molly is a 25 lb predominantly Beagle (maybe some Brittany Spaniel in the face) & Dad's breed remains unknown. Based on the way that Ophelia & her sibs like to gnaw on trees, the possibility exists that her father is not a dog, but a beaver!

Born into fostercare on Feb 7th, 2007, Ophelia is not quite old enough to be adopted but we are accepting applications so that once she is weaned, spayed & ready to leave the pack, she'll have a home just waiting for her arrival (mid to late April.)

Ophelia is well socialized & plays nicely with people & other dogs. She is curious about the house cats but not aggressive. She is often up for a game of 'Chase the Ball' or 'Chase the Person' or hey, 'Gnaw on the Tree!'

Please note: Each adopter of an Underdog puppy is expected to be knowledgeable about (or willing to learn) how to housetrain a puppy. Housetraining puppies involves frequent trips outside by puppy AND person (on leash even in a fenced yard) with lots of praise &/or rewards. No puppies go potty indoors for spite. If you think dogs do things for spite then a puppy is probably not for you. It's all up to the people to teach the puppy kindly & patiently where acceptable potty spots are. Ophelia has good instincts in this regard. She prefers to go outside if given the opportunity.
