Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tonka had a rough start, with his first owners wanting to bring him to the shelter. Friends took him in to save him from the high volume local pound, but ended up bringing him there as he was "too active". He was adopted from there again, but again returned for being "too active".
Tonka has been with us since spring and while he is young and somewhat active, we're not sure how he got that label. His foster parents report he's pretty chill in the house. He goes in his crate without issue and is generally quiet. He does bark once in a while, during excitement, or sometimes with new people, although he's accepting and likes the company of people. He does super with other dogs and we suspect he'd do well with cats, though he's not been tested. Tonka is young and did manage to scare off a potential adoptor with some very uncharacteristic behaviour - he liked them so much he thought he'd show it by humping the teenage son! He's usually very well-behaved, including walking well onleash and riding nicely in the car. He's been well socialized since being with us and has overcome a mild nervousness with strangers. He has a great sense of humour and would do really well as a family pet, esp with another dog to play with. His breed background is anyone's guess but he's a nice size at about 45 lbs.
