My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog was named Fighter but should be Trooper because of his will to survive. He is in Taiwan having been rescued by the Taiwan Rescue Team. He is a special needs dog but exceptionally worthy of a forever home here in CA. He is eligible to fly to LAX or SFO if a qualified adopter can be found. Here is his full story.

Name: Fighter
Sex: Male (neutered)
Age: 6-7 years old
Weight: 50 lbs
Breed: Husky
Personality: friendly, superbly sweet, can get along with dogs and cats very well
Characteristics: vocal cord was cut off, vision impaired in left eye, twisted left ear
Medical record: given all vaccinations, rabies shots, heartworm tested negative, microchipped

About Fighter:
We named him Fighter because he had gone through a very harsh life and still can fight for his survival. Fighter was one of the breed dogs in a breeding ground in the mountain where the breeder kept purebreed dogs for sale. Fighter was born twisted in one of his ears and his left eye was abnormal. The breeder knew he could not get any benefit from such a kind of “inferior product” so he didn’t pay any attention to Fighter. Since Husky was quite popular in Taiwan in the last few years,, the breeder was doing good business until recent years when there was a decline in his dog business. People lost interest in keeping huskies and the breeder had to pay for large amount of dog food and medical supplies. Many Huskies were abandoned on the street and the breeder had to close his business even though he still had a lot unsold. He took healthy and young ones out of the mountain and left the old and the sick behind. Fighter, of course, had to stay since he was “inferior”. In the first beginning, the breeder would ask a worker to come back to the breeding ground to leave some food for his dogs. Then he couldn’t afford to pay for the worker so he finally gave up all his dogs in early January. Nobody knew the abandoned dogs until one day a newspaper deliverer got lost in the mountain area and found the Huskies’ graveyard where most of the dogs were starved to death. Fighter and the other two dogs were the only survivors, who were weak and dying. The newspaperman exposed the horrible fact to the animal rescuers and volunteers, who later sent the three dogs to the vet. One of the three huskies was gone in two days, another was later taken away by a kind lady. Fighter was very brave. Even though his condition was very critical, he was very tough and had a strong will to live on. The vet told the rescuer that he had never had seen any dogs braver than Fighter, who was still optimistic and trusting even after suffering so much.
After three months of treatment and medical care, Fighter was finally coming back to normal. He was handsome and became dog-like. He has pleasant personality and likes to play with human friends. He has no aggressive behavior and never barks because his vocal cord had been cut off . He is crate trained and likes to be leashed for a walk. It’s hard for the vet to tell his exact age. Maybe Fighter is still very young but his teeth are yellowish, which may be caused by poor nutrition and lack of care.

Fighter is currently waiting for his second chance at the vet’s. He has been staying in a small crate too long. Please give this dog a new life to make up for his previous miserable days.

Adoption process includes completing a pre adoption application, homecheck, availability to meet Trooper when he comes to the airport where you will also be met by a local rescue rep and sign the adoption contract and make a modest donation of $75.
