My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PIPSQUEAK.

Ten month old Pip weighs 4 & 1/2 lbs, although we are feeding him several times a day trying to 'beef' him up to at least 5 lbs. Pip is snuggly, 'personable', perky on a leash & gets along with other dogs & also indoor cats.

Pip is a rescued dog who was abandoned with his best friend; an onery, female chihuahua at the gates of a rural Kentucky animal sanctuary. He lived indoors there until going to Underdogs.

Underdogs Rescue took Pip in as a foster in an ongoing effort to help the KY dog shelter improve their situation (over 220 dogs & little outside financial support.) Underdogs had Pip neutered, vetted & vaccinated. He is being housetrained & exercised daily. We're trying to train Pip to 'Sit' but he would rather dance frankly.

Pip's adoption donation is $540, 100% of which supports the expenses of rescuing dogs (& cats) - high quality dog food, complete vet care, grooming, training, etc., etc. We are not just a not-for-profit; we are a money-losing rescue group. Our personal out-of-pocket expenses each year number numbers in the thousands of dollars. But we do it because we believe in making a difference to the lives of an individual animal & the people who end up loving those individuals.

We welcome out-of-area adopters if you are willing to incur the additional expense of transporting.

If you are interested in Pip, please contact Erin (only) & include mention of where you live & what other people or pets live in your home. Feel free to tell more than that as well. We will request that an application be submitted by any potential adopters that we think would make a good fit for Pip.

All emails will be acknowledged within two days. If you don't hear back after two days, your email wasn't received.

We're building a website & Pip is currently featured on that work in progress. There are a few more photos of him on there. We'll be adding more & more animals as time allows us to work on that. We welcome you to visit that site:
