Sammy has found his new forever home! He has a Shih Tzu sister as cute as he is and his loving parents have welcomed him with Open Arms. We couldn't be happier for "our" Sammy.

Sammy is a most adorable little Shi Tzu boy. Just look at his photos after retuning from the groomer. He is 5 years old and weighs about 17 pounds. Sammy is very well-behaved and enjoys sitting next to you at any time of day. But he is also independent enough to lie on the patio with an ever-watchful-eye on the lizards. He has a mellow, yet engaging personality. Sammy is potty trained, neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and free of fleas thanks to monthly preventatives.
Sammy’s parents contacted Open Arms because they have had a series of family hardships and made the heartbreaking decision to find him another home. It has not taken long for Sammy to warm up to a new environment. Although he was an only fur-child, he has adjusted very well to other dogs here in rescue. Our resident outside kitty does not faze him. In fact they are pals during their morning walks together. People must get a chuckle when they see the three of us walking down the street! Sammy loves to give kisses, enjoys riding in the car and plays fetch until you say uncle. He is a good boy while being groomed.
If you are looking for a sweet doggie companion, it will be difficult to resist Sammy’s cute under-bite. A loving active family with gentle older children would suit him just fine.
