My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We got Shadow, a gray and white Tuxedo cat, as a kitten. He was living alone under a trailer in the dead of winter after his sibling was run over and killed right in front of him. It took us weeks to trap him because he'd seen us trapping other cats and was overall, incredibly traumatized and frightened. Once caught, we found him a home - a home where the children living there beat on him and roughed him enough to break his tail. We'd also told them he was a feral kitten and needed to be introduced slowly, and put in a room to himself to adjust to his new surroundings. He finally ran off and found a way up into their drop ceiling to hide. Once they got him back out they stuffed him in a carrier and left him in there until we could arrange a pick up.

When he returned, we was more afraid of people then before he left. He was returned in a carrier covered in urine and feces. Feral kittens aren't used to people so those adopting him should have followed our instructions to introduce him slowly, but they didn't. He's now in foster care, and has bonded with his foster mom. It's taken him a while to let her pet him, but he now does. He also let's her 11 year old daughter pet him too. We see the loving cat underneath the fear so his adopters must be willing to let him hide if he needs to. He will come out , they all do. If patient, he will bond to you, love you and be the gentle loving cat he's been with his foster mom. We save these cats to give them better lives so it's upsetting his first home failed him so miserably. BUT we believe in second chances, and have no doubt he'll make someone a lovely companion.
