My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gremlin is a very unique looking Boxer mix (fantastic markings!), possibly crossed with a little Mastiff? This handsome boy is around 55-60lbs, almost a year old and acts very much like the young man that he is with energy to burn. LOVES toys and playing ball!!!

Prior to coming to us, this boy had been surrendered by his previous family to the dog pound, where he had spent a good several months. His previous humans had never taken the time to train and socialize him. Less than a month ago, this boy did not know how to sit still and was even afraid to go up the steps. Gremlin has a scar along the bottom side of his neck where someone had obviously left a chain/collar on him for too long. A sign of abuse from his former life.

Since coming to us, he has been enrolled in a board-and-train program with a local training facility. For the past month he has made tremendous progress in socialization and confidence level, has learned to sit and down politely for treats, has learned "watch me," "off," and "leave it," and is starting to walk nicely on the leash. He has tremendous potential and with the right family he will continue to progress and become the superstar he was meant to be.

Since he is not really crazy about other dogs or cats, a home where he can be the only dog would be best. Because he does play and wrestle like a big boy, a family with kids over 10 years would be best and the more active the family, the better. He would be the perfect running partner.

Gremlin is crate trained, house trained, UTD on vaccinations, Heartworm negative, and recently altered.

FOSTER UPDATE: Gremlin has a foster home and is learning to live in an actual home. He is doing well, has a Bloodhound as a best friend and they love to play! He is doing well learning his commands and manners. Such a great boy, eager to please and lots of energy!

FOSTER UPDATE #2: Gremlin is excelling in training! He is so smart. Here is what we are working on...

Commands:
Sit
Down (on his hip)
Stand
Leave It (he has ignored people walking right in front of our house while we are on front porch! Brings tears to my eyes!!!!)
Back Up
Crawl Place
Come
Look At Me
Touch (touching his nose to my fist, for a good distraction in an iffy situation)

Gremlin has a love for life and would love to have a forever home. He has a great personality and has a great doggie smile.

His adoption comes with a FREE private training session at the High Drive Pups training facility (West Side of Cleveland, http://highdrivepups.com), and, if the new family is interested in advancing his obedience skills, affordable follow-up lesson plans.
