My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bucko (aka Bucky) ASRM 0151 is a 1 year old Red Tri Male who weighs 36 lbs. He came to us as a stray but is quickly learning how wonderful family life is! This guy is velcro with his main person or leader especially when he wants to relax and sleep. He is becoming more confident every day, but needs someone who is kind and patient to finish his training. Bucko learns very quickly with a gentle hand. He is comfortable around women and a kid but he just takes a little longer with meeting men. This boy is very curious of men and watches them while wagging his tail. He really wants to say “Hi there Mister” and he often sneaks a sniff when they are not looking. Once Bucko realizes a man is a frequent visitor he comes over to them. Soon he will no longer be shy. His boy has come a long way in just a few weeks.

He is currently crate trained and understands “come” and “stay”. We are working on adding some new commands and finishing his puppy training. Bucko is very gentle and well-mannered. This boy looks to his person for direction and picks up on everything very quickly. He walks nicely on the leash without pulling.

Bucky is a medium energy dog. He loves to run and play in the backyard with the other dogs. And boy is he fast! He might come in a compact package, but he is quick and agile and would easily excel as a jogging partner or agility dog.

Bucko has a gentle nature. He does well around cats and has been introduced to horses. At this time, we have not introduced him to small children. He does not jump or herd strongly so we believe he will do well with kids over 6 years old.

Bucky is up to date on his vaccines, has been micro-chipped, and neutered. He is being fostered in Nicholasville, KY. If you would like to adopt Bucko, please fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION
