My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brigid, a stunning 14-year-old feline looking for her forever home. With her mesmerizing eyes and serene demeanor, Brigid captivates everyone she meets. Her loving and warm personality shines through in every interaction, making her a joy to be around.

Despite her age, Brigid is graceful and agile, moving with the elegance of a much younger cat. She is incredibly sensitive and tender, always showing affection in the most gentle ways. Brigid enjoys quiet moments cuddled up with her human, basking in the love and warmth of companionship.

One of Brigid's unique traits is her independence. She is content entertaining herself with toys or lounging in a sunny spot, but she also cherishes human companionship and will seek out affection when she desires it.

It's important to note that Brigid is declawed, so she needs a safe indoor environment where she can explore and play without any risks. Her tranquil nature makes her an excellent companion for those seeking a calm and loving feline friend.

If you're looking for a sweet and tender soul to bring into your home, Brigid is the perfect match. Come meet this beautiful cat and experience the joy of having her as part of your family.

Additional adoption info

1) Adoptions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. The first step is to email us at AHcatadoption@gmail.com. Be sure to include your full name, age, address, and phone number. We will respond as soon as possible to answer your questions and schedule an appointment to visit our shelter. If you have already submitted an inquiry through Adopt-a-Pet or Petfinder about a particular cat, there is no need to send a separate email.
2) During your appointment, you will complete a questionnaire and work with an adoption coordinator to find the cat that is right for you. This process may involve meeting with numerous cats, or even making more than one visit to Animal House. You and your new cat will live together for a lifetime, so this step is important.
3) Before adoption, we ensure that your cat has been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

More about this shelter

Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center is a private, non-profit, “no-kill” organization dedicated to providing the homeless, abandoned cats and kittens of St. Louis with a better life. We are committed to maintaining an adoption center that provides a safe, healthy and enriching environment, and our goal is a solid and lasting adoption for every cat and kitten in our care.

Animal House opened in 2010 when the City of St. Louis closed its municipal shelter and ended a number of services for stray animals. Not only did the 75 cats residing in their shelter need a place to go, the St. Louis community needed services for abandoned, homeless cats. Animal House was born out of that need. Today we house 200-250 cats and kittens at any given time.

The cats and kittens at Animal House are rescued from the streets of our community and often come from challenging circumstances that include neglect, abandonment, or injury. We have created a safe place where cats in need find shelter, medical and nutritional support, individualized socialization and interaction, enrichment, lots of love, and the opportunity to connect with a loving, lifelong family. We impose no time limit on this process, giving each cat or kitten the time they need. We emphasize matchmaking throughout our adoption process to ensure the best possible match.
