My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. I’m Bella Rae but my friends just call me Bella. Please excuse me if I seem a little shy at first. I am, but given time and lots of gentle encouragement, my true self comes through. Also, my world has become kind of confusing because for some reason I’m not in my home any more. One minute I’m living with Mom, Dad and that little boy and the next thing I know, I’m at a different home with no little boy (that part’s okay) with a new Foster Mom and Foster Dad and a Foster Sister that’s just as tall as Foster Mom! I like those taller people best. (This is Bella’s Foster Mom here: the little boy at Bella’s first home was too young to understand that flopping down on a dog was a bad idea. With another baby on the way, the family thought there might be a better home out there for Bella)

Excuse me, Mrs. Foster Mom, but they want to hear from me! So, yeah, I’m not a fan of the short-legged set. I’m supposed to tell you that a home with older kids is fine because they know how to behave and treat a dog, especially a sensitive girl such as me. People are just about my favorite thing in the world and I love sitting on the couch with someone while they watch television or read.

Oh, and you have to know this about me: I don’t have any accidents in the house! My business is done outside each and every time and I’ll make sure to let you know when it’s time to go out. It would be very rude of me to bark so I prefer to make a little noise like a whimper. And patience is one of my virtues, too. If you don’t hear me, I’ll just do it again until you do.

Coming back inside is one of my favorite times to play. Mrs. Foster Mom likes the way I wiggle my entire body, not just my tail, to let her know that I want to play. She also likes the funny little march I do with my front legs when I play so I do that extra for her cause it makes her laugh. I love to make people laugh.

Oh, and I bet you need to know a few more detail-type stuff: I’m four years old, up to date on all of my shots and in very good health. But I do have allergies: I am allergic to beef so we’re working on trying to figure out exactly what I should be eating. That will be all sorted out before I get to my new home so don’t let that stop you from thinking about adding me to your family.

There are some things I need to work on, like my manners when I’m walking on a leash. Evidently I’m not supposed to pull so much. That’s hard to do because I really love to go for walks and I’m so excited to see everything! Training class might be a good idea for us to get to know each other better and learn to work together so that I can be the best pet I can be.

Well, I don’t know what else I can tell you about myself other than that I work hard at being the very best girl that I can be. I hope that I get to meet you soon.

Love,

Bella Rae
