My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're an all-volunteer group and need advance notice to schedule appointments. We cannot accept same-day appointments.
Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the pet or asking questions first. For information on a specific animal, please visit our adoption center or email us at humaneswa@yahoo.com!

I Want a Home for the Summer!

The Humane Society of West Alabama's "Home for the Summer" campaign aims to find homes for as many pets as possible! During the months of June & July 2013, we've reduced adoption fees to only $45 for all adult cats 1 year and older! Help us make this their best summer ever - by winning a loving family!

Please meet this beautiful young lady named Sky, a 2-year-old Siamese Tabby mix with blue-gray highlights. Sky's previous owners had her declawed, so she's lost her first and only line of defense. Sky is a little timid, which is to be expected with Siamese. But she is very calm and gentle! She's fine being held gently. She loves attention from people. She does well around other mellow, gentle cats, but would not do well around a dominant-aggressive cat. We do not recommend her around dogs mainly due to her being declawed - she cannot set boundaries when she feels threatened. Visit our cat adoption center during Saturday open hours or contact us to meet Sky!

Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters.
