My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MIKOTO
"Prince Charming To Some"

Hi, remember me? I’m Juliet and if I do say so myself, I am one of the hottest orphans MARS has ever seen. I just love to party and play, in fact Mom and Dad call me the Paris Hilton of Akita land. But you see even a girl like me can have a problem and that is where I need your help. There is this new guy in my life. He is ridiculously handsome, and Mom and Dad are just dreamy about him. They even call him Prince Charming (gag). Do you know how hard it is to live with a foster brother as perfect as that? I need to find him a forever home so that they will stop saying “look how well he does …….” Please indulge me while I tell you a little about “Prince Charming.”

Mikoto is a young guy probably about 1 year old who was found wondering around Leavenworth County, KS. Someone brought him to the shelter and while he was there one of the volunteers thought he was so special she put a guardian angel tag on him to protect him. Well it seemed to work like a charm and next thing I know MY crate is being loaded into MY akitamobile and I am being left behind. A few hours later he shows up and moves into MY crate. Since he showed up I am no longer the epicenter of the universe here so you can see why I am getting desperate. I am getting really tired of hearing things like:

“He doesn’t pull on his leash at all” – what is wrong with a little pull if you need to get to a party faster than Mom & Dad?

“He takes treats so gently” – oh please, if you gave me more I might too!

“He chews his food” – what is the point of that when you are in a hurry to do something else?

“He sits and lets you clean his paws” – two-words “suck up”!

“He comes when you call him” – get me a cell phone & I might do that too.

“He lies down in the car” – I prefer driving myself.

“He was so good for the vet” – I’m good for the vet too especially if they break out the treats

“He just sits there and looks at other dogs” – can you say boring?

Well the truth of it is that Mikoto is a goody four-paws. None of the humans can understand why anyone would have left or lost a guy like this and not move heaven and earth to find him. He clearly has had a lot of training, and he is very calm and gentle. He is a prince charming now and there is no doubt that he will grow into a wise, gentle and gracious king of whatever land he ends up in. He would probably do well with other dogs as long as they are nice to him and might enjoy a mellow princess in his land. He has a sprained cruciate ligament and will need some TLC to manage that.

Please contact Deanna O’Brien at marsakita@sbcglobal.net or 773-594-9302 for more information. And please hurry, I’m dying here (okay Mom says I’m a drama queen), you just have to help me find him a home fit for a prince so I can go back to being the center of the party!

Editor’s Note: MARS would like to thank Juliet’s Mom for graciously helping Juliet with Mikoto’s profile. Having assisted Boone, we know how difficult it can be to remain cool and calm as we type for our Hot Akitas!
