My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Macho, macho pups..... we know you'll love the Macho Pups!

The Macho Litter i very appropriately named. Even though their mother had a fairly big litter of seven pups, every single one..... yes, ALL seven!..... were boys! Very unusual!

And talk about handsome. Each pup has his own unique look, but they're all gorgeous, and they get compliments from everyone who meets them, not only on their looks but on their personalities.

The pups are only 9 weeks old right now. Their mother's owner unfortunately wasn't able to afford to care for all of the dogs she had, so another rescue group intervened to help her get down to manageable numbers. But unfortunately, they had space for only mom, not her pups, so the pups came here to New Lease on Life.

Since then, their foster mom has doted on and spoiled them. They're like little duckling as they follow her around the yard, "helping" with chores. And inside, they all snuggle into a big puppy pile for naps. Too cute.

We believe the pups are Belgian Shepherd/Yellow Lab/Rottweiler mixes. We don't know for sure how big dad was, but based on their mother's size, we're expecting them to be 40 to 50 pounds as adults. So potential adopters should plan on a medium-sized dog.

The pups are a bit too young for real housebreaking yet, but their foster mom has introduced them to the concept of pottying outside, so they should pick it up quickly. The key is consistency and praise.

You can meet the Macho Litter at the shelter during adoption hours, Thursday through Sunday 5 to 8pm or call 330-397-8270 to schedule an appt for another day or time.

The pups are not yet spayed/neutered, but this will be done BEFORE they go home with new families. In the meantime, you can reserve your favorite pup. In order to reserve, you must come out to meet the pups and fill out an application. If approved, you must leave a 50% ($100) deposit to reserve your favorite. They will then go home with you the day after their neuter, which will be in about a week.
