The Love Bug here! I'm an eight year old copper eyed blue Persian. Things started downhill when Mom brought home twin babies 18 months ago. Before that, my sister and I enjoyed a fabulous life, getting groomed every other week and going on vacations with Mom and Dad. We were the apples of their eye; their world revolved around us.
When the babies came, I tried to be a good sport and did everything to get their attention: Getting into the baby bassinet, sleeping in their crib, and getting ready to go out by getting into their baby buggy. I keep telling them, "I'm the baby." Nothing seemed to work. Those babies cried more than I did, so they got all the attention.
These days, I can only dream about our old life. Mornings would start by me giving Mom a shoulder massage, then she would get up, clean my eyes, give me a combing, fix my breakfast, and clean up my litter box. I would spend the day following her around, hanging on her every touch. I still give her massages if she stays in bed long enough, and follow her around for affection too, but these days, I'm lucky if she gives me a second look. It's a sad story really. When those human babies came, they sucked all the air out of the room. Now, the peacock feather seldom comes out of the vase for play and she only gives me a shave once in a while to keep me from getting matted up. Gone are the days of wine and roses. If you ask my sister, Nuggles, she will confirm what's been going on.
Please know that my sister, Nuggles and I, must be placed together. Our wish for a new home is that we will be totally loved and spoiled. Is that too much to hope for?
