My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poor 2 year old Mardi was hit by a car and abandoned – no one ever came forward to claim him. That family’s loss can be your gain; now that Mardi has completely healed from his injuries he and his stuffed bear are looking for a loving home they can call their own!

His new family should be active because Mardi is a young, energetic dog; a secure fenced-in yard is a must! They will also need to be experienced dog owners – he shouldn’t be someone’s “first” dog. It would also help if he was an “only” dog for a while; Mardi is currently crate trained because he never learned the innate social skills most dogs have (maybe he was removed from his mother and siblings at too young of an age?). He is in no way aggressive - he just wants to meet and make friends with everyone! For example - if another dog growls at him (“give me some room”) Mardi doesn’t understand what that means and will continue to approach the dog. Likewise small animals excite him to distraction so no cats or other little critters.

Once Mardi learns to interact with doggies properly a canine friend would probably be good (if they are introduced correctly). In the interim Mardi is nice-sized friendly lug – at 50 pounds; he’s not too big and not too small. What’s his favorite treat? If you answered Beggin’ Strips you’d be wrong – it’s celery stalks!

Please call Faye to meet this wonderful boy (610-705-5801)!
